The Rules Every Move Letter Question Uses

These puzzles are small, but every answer has to obey the same strict transformation rule.

✂️ Rule 1: Remove exactly one letter

Take one letter out of the first word. The other letters must remain in their original order.

racer race r remove one letter only

Example: racer can lose r to become race.

➡️ Rule 2: Move that same letter

The removed letter is inserted into the second word. You do not change it into a different letter.

pea r pear same letter moves across

Example: pea plus the moved r becomes pear.

✅ Rule 3: Both results must be real words

A move only works if the shortened first word and the expanded second word are both valid.

darts but dart bust both results must be real words

Example: darts and but become dart and bust by moving s.

🔎 Rule 4: Check every possible position

The moved letter can be inserted at the start, middle, or end of the second word.

piped lay lady try start, middle, end

Example: piped and lay become pipe and lady by moving d to the end.

How to Solve Move Letter Questions
